The Raw after SummerSlam, as expected, was up 10 percent from last week. Last night’s episode averaged 2.73 million viewers.

The ratings pattern wasn’t as good as in recent weeks in the sense that there was a third hour drop. Since Paul Heyman got more influence, hour three actually beat hour two in three of the previous four weeks. The show also reverted back to the usual summer pattern of hour two being the highest, which had not been the case for much of this summer but was historically the case.

As far as the ratings pattern went, with a battle of champions with Seth Rollins vs. AJ Styles pushed, women were well ahead in hour three from hour one, but adult men were not. In women 18-49, the third hour was up three percent from the first. In men 18-49, it was down 11 percent. In teenage girls, hour three was 31 percent up from hour one. In teenage boys, it was up two percent.

Raw was third for the night on cable, trailing Hannity at 3.16 million and Tucker Carlson at 3.04 million on Fox News.

Last year’s Raw after SummerSlam averaged 3.09 million viewers, so it was an 11.7 percent year-to-year drop.

Straight Up Steve Austin, which debuted on the USA Network after Raw, averaged 1.21 million viewers. It was the most-watched original show on cable during its time slot.

The three hours for Raw were:

  • 8 p.m. 2.77 million viewers
  • 9 p.m. 2.82 million viewers
  • 10 p.m. 2.60 million viewers
